The Jester Has Lost His Jingle $20 / Jester Co., Inc. / 1995 The Jester Has Lost Its Jingle is a full-color children's book written and illustrated by David Saltzman who, at the age of 22 and then a recent graduate of Yale University, had contracted Hodgkin's Disease. While undergoing chemotherapy treatments, he completed this book and soon afterward passed away. Not withstanding this unhappy introduction, The Jester is a testament to Saltzman's positive spirit and love of life. It's about the story of a Jester and his helpmate, Pharley, who both awaken one morning to find that laughter is missing from their Medieval kingdom. The rest of the book tells the tale of their quest to rediscover laughter. A fantastic children's book which can be enjoyed by both children and adults alike, Saltzman's special brand of personal humor and talent will be forever missed. —Lady Kimberly |
