Historical Morevi: The Chronicles of Rafe and Askana
by Lisa Lee and Tee Morris
$19.95 / Dragon Moon Press
/ 2002
Morevi: The Chronicles
of Rafe and Askana
is an epic adventure. Traversing King Henry VIII's England to
Naruihm, the land beyond a rift in the space/time continuum,
a unique fantasy world is created, as historical detail is juxtaposed
against fantastic characters and surroundings.
Queen Askana Moldarin rules the exotic nation of Morevi, which
is landlocked within Naruihm. Traitors are afoot, her kingdom
is facing upheaval, and secret forces wish to thwart her rule
and take control of the throne. Are the traitors within her council
or is someone plotting to remove Askana from power with the neighboring
land of Eyrie? To answer these questions and save Morevi, Askana
joins forces with Rafe Rafton, a privateer Captain who once pillaged
the Queen's ships.
Rafe and Askana's journey takes them across the rift into King
Henry VIII's England. There, they find treachery also in his
court. Among them are narrow escapes, magical circumstances,
and staggering melées bring the pair together in ways
they never imagined.
Authors Lisa Lee and Tee Morris successfully weave an adventurous
tale of love and mystery that spans historic England to the magical
land of Naruihm. The blend of the two worlds adds depth and interest
to the novel and provides a bounty of characters and themes.
Morevi will engage the reader and keep one guessing until the
very end.
