Borders No More Glenn Morgan Glenn Morgan has produced a number of beautiful albums for Fishbite Recordings, and this CD is the crowning jewel. The music sparkles with selections from France, the United States, Great Britain, and a real gem from the Ukraine. The music and the musicians are well balanced throughout the album, offering a wide range of sounds from the hammered dulcimer to the crwth, (crowd), an ancient Celtic stringed instrument played either plucked or with a bow. Also featured are the hurdy gurdy and the bodhran. From the first selection to the last, the music is a feast of different styles, moods, cultures, and times. The dances include Irish and Welsh jigs, English country, and a French Mazurka. Venturing beyond the Celtic, there is a Swedish walking tune, "Gardebyletten," a Dutch fiddle tune, "Madlot," and the haunting Ukrainian tune "Katyusha." Some outstanding pieces include the Irish "Pipe on the Hob," the Welsh "The Roaring Hornpipe," and an Americanized version of the old Scottish tune, "The Devil's Dream." The music is pure joy, and from the sounds of it, the musicians must have had a great time recording this album.
